Ahh summer weddings in Alabama are always gorgeous, and a lot of times they are unpredictable because of the weather! Marissa and Joel’s wedding day was one of those days where the weather tried to give us a run for our money; however, it didn’t set us behind one bit! Marissa was so calm and didn’t care one bit about the rain when she saw Joel for the first time. They were both so easy going and made our job so easy! During their ceremony, Joel talked about the first time he met Marissa and how he knew there was something special about her from the beginning. Joel jokingly called Marissa his wife through college and one day he knew she actually would be! While the officiant prayed over Marissa and Joel, it started to rain on the tin roof, and it was so magical! God most definitely blessed their marriage and we are firm believers that rain on a wedding day is good luck 😉

The gorgeous backdrop made for the most amazing portraits and to say that we were excited about it would be an understatement! We could have spent all day capturing these two in that beautiful field! As the night winded down, fireworks cascaded through the sky as Joel and Marissa reflected on their perfect wedding day! They are truly one of the sweetest couples and we were honored to be apart of it!
